About Us

7 Patrol Officers and 3 Command Officers make up the membership of the Rossford Police Patrolmen's Association. The group, originally started in the late 1970's, formed as the bargaining unit for members of the Rossford Police Department. Later, the Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association became the labor organization that represents the unionized police force and the RPPA became a community service and social organization.

The RPPA provides an annual scholarship for graduating high school seniors that reside within the Rossford School District. The scholarship, in the namesake of Rossford's first chief of police, Martin Almester, is funded by donations gathered every September during the Almester Golf Outing.

Other donations gathered allows the association to provide support for local school functions including the DARE program and DECA Halloween Parade along with Veteran's Park restoration and events for police officers and their families.
